Building a team without having to employ

Building a team without having to employ

Does the thought of employing staff scare you? It’s never been in my business plan to employ staff but I’ve managed to build a virtual team who supports me which has enabled me to grow my business to achieve a 6 figure turnover. Here’s how!

I’ve been working with a team of virtual assistants for around 3 years now. You’ve probably seen me introducing my team on social media recently. The thought of outsourcing really appealed to me as I wouldn’t have commitments of having to pay salaries and PAYE. It also meant that if I ever had quiet spells I could give the team less work. It just so happened that that never happened! Since working with Two Birds Resources my business has gone from strength to strength which has meant that I’ve offloaded even more work in their direction.

By outsourcing your admin, you know you have the support there when you need to increase your hours. When you employ a member of staff they commit to a set number of hours and if you need to cover more work, you have to employ someone else.

Working virtually really suits me with the flexibility it offers around my health. If I’m not having a great day my team can step in, even if it’s just dropping clients an email to let them know what’s going on and rearranging my diary.

Outsourcing also saves money in the long run as you have no additional overheads like you do when you employ a member of staff. Not to forget all the benefits an employee is entitled to such as pension and holidays.

When you’re first contemplating scaling your business you may not have the funds to commit to lengthy agreements with freelancers. You may find that working with a virtual assistant means you can hire them on a project basis. Having the additional support as and when your business requires it will really help you to focus on prioritising the jobs which need your attention most.

I’ve discovered that working with Gemma and the team has meant that I have access to various talent pools which I wouldn’t have if I’d employed a member of staff.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, whether that be with your bookkeeping or your admin and you know your time would be better spent in other areas of your business then definitely consider outsourcing.

At LJM we can support you with your bookkeeping requirements which gives you transparency on your finances, this is particularly important when trying to scale your business. We also offer the additional support of admin which will be in the safe hands of my virtual assistants.

If you’re wanting to scale your business you’re going to need the support. Don’t stress about employment and all the legislation that goes with it. Reach out to us today.

API (Application Programming Interface) is a set of rules, protocols, and tools that allows different software applications to communicate with each other. APIs define the methods and data formats that you use to request and exchange information between software systems, enabling them to interact and integrate seamlessly. Learning what you can do with your software is key to building the best business processes.
